A key component of Grand Bay NERR’s mission is to promote stewardship within the reserve and in adjacent coastal areas, to maintain healthy habitats.
There are several components to the Grand Bay NERR stewardship sector including land management and associated effectiveness monitoring, trail management and debris removal, and testing concepts associated with restoring marshes.
Other activities that are coordinated with the GNDNWR include trail development and maintenance, invasive species mapping and treatment, fire management, mechanical treatment (e.g., chain sawing, mulching, etc.), habitat assessments, habitat mapping and restoration planning.
