Volunteers Install Bluebird Nesting Boxes at Coastal Resources Center

Volunteers from Grand Bay NERR installed 16 Bluebird  boxes along the power line easement on the east and west sides of Bayou Heron Road.   Five of the nesting boxes around the Grand Bay Coastal Resources Center that have nested an estimated 15 Bluebirds this season. An array of volunteers have helped to construct and install the boxes since February of this year. Groups include:  Master Naturalists and Master Gardeners, an AmeriCorps NCCC team and local volunteers. These volunteers will help to monitor and clean out the boxes during the upcoming year.
