Grand Bay Reserve Offering Free Holiday Hayrides through the Reserve
December 2nd, 2011 | Category: NewsDid you ever wonder what native greenery was safe to have in your house for holiday decorations? Join us for one of our special holiday hayrides through the reserve on Saturday, December 10th to learn how to identify the different native plants used in holiday decorations and the do’s and don’ts for collecting them. We will serve hot chocolate, peppermints and cookies after the hayride to get you in the holiday spirit!
Our hayrides will leave the Grand Bay Coastal Resources Center located near Pascagoula and Moss Point Mississippi at 9AM and 10:30 AM. Each trip can carry approximately 20 people. We will travel down to the birding trail where we will disembark and explore the maritime forest along the trail by foot. This trail is handicapped accessible, so it is an easy walk. There is no age limit for this event, but children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
We recommend that you pre-register for this event. To pre-register, please email your contact information including your name, email address and phone numbers to Jennifer Buchanan at jen.buchanan@dmr.ms.gov or call the Reserve at 228.475.7047.
