Volunteers Needed: Region IV Science Fair Judge March 3, 2015
February 3rd, 2015 | Category: Education Projects, News, ProjectsThe Region VI Science Fair is scheduled for Tuesday March 3, 2015 at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum. Again this year we will have approximately 1000 science fair entries that were winners at their schools. Students from grades 1-12 will be competing in 8 different science categories ranging from botany to zoology with chemistry and physics in between. Students compete for regional honors and the opportunity to compete at the state and international level. Special awards from various agencies and professional societies will be awarded at the middle and high school level.
We invite all of you to bring friends to help judge the show and to post this volunteer need with your human services/community outreach program directors. The more judges we have the better chance we have of talking to all of the students about their science projects.
Judges will meet at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum Tuesday, March 3rd about 0800 for registration and assignments. About 0900 the judging will begin and should be done by 1200. The dress is business casual or uniform of the day.
There are no education requirements for judges but if you do have a science degree we would like to know, since, in addition to general judging, we are need for judges for the Special Awards (list of this year’s awards will be provided later).
You may register at the following link (http://www.sciencefair.usm.edu/judges.html) or by emailing George Heburn.
Thank you for considering helping judge the 2015 Region VI science fair.
