Sightings Gallery
There is much to see at the Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve!
The open-water estuarine areas support oyster reefs and extensive seagrass habitats. The intertidal portion of the Reserve includes a wide variety of marsh types as well as some of the most extensive, unvegetated salt flats in this part of the Mississippi Sound. The non-tidal areas include wet pine savannas, coastal bayhead and cypress swamps, freshwater marshes and maritime forests.
Our staff keep their ears and eyes open while conducting research and other projects each week and compile a list of our favorite sights. See below for our most recent sightings!
