The goal of the facilities design team was to create a functional and environmentally friendly or “green” building that demonstrates the use of sustainable building strategies, innovative energy and water conservation features. In achieving the U.S. Green Building Council’s GOLD level certification, this was accomplished in grand fashion. We wanted to show our commitment to sustainable building, reduce our carbon footprint and “walk the talk” in reducing our impacts on the environment. The Center is one of the “greenest” buildings in all of Mississippi.
