Facility
The Grand Bay Coastal Resources Center serves as the headquarters for the Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and the Grand Bay National Wildlife Refuge. The Center was completed in 2009. Lord, Aeck and Sargent, Atlanta, GA and Studio South, Ocean Springs, MS served as the architects for the facility. Interpretative exhibits were designed and fabricated by Taylor Studios of Rantoul, IL. The facility was designed to be a “green” project and achieved a GOLD rating by the U.S. Green Building Council.
The facility consists of office space, an interpretative area, classrooms, laboratories and a dormitory. The Interpretative Area is open to the public 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Normal operating hours of the Center are 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Interpretative Area is closed on all State Holidays.
