A Public Meeting on the Reserve’s Draft Management Plan will be held this evening, April 4, 2013 at 6pm at the NERR . Come enjoy lively, hands-on exhibits addressing marine and estuarine environmental issues and recreational and commercial activities associated with the Gulf.
The Grand Bay NERR recently submitted a draft 2013-2018 Grand Bay NERR Management Plan to NOAA for approval. NOAA requires periodic updates to Reserve management plans. The Reserve takes an integrated approach to management, linking research, education, training and stewardship functions to address priority issues including climate change, habitat protection and water quality. The 18,049 acre Reserve located in eastern Jackson County was designated into the National Estuarine Research Reserve System in 1999. A public meeting will be held April 4, starting at 6:00 p.m. [...]
